How heavy should loaded conditioning exercises be?
The appropriate load depends on the movement and session objective. In most conditioning formats, use resistance that is meaningful but still allows consistent technique and repeatable output. If movement speed collapses immediately or your range of motion changes substantially, the load is probably too aggressive for that format.
Are dumbbells or kettlebells better for conditioning?
Neither is universally better. Dumbbells are extremely versatile for bilateral and unilateral strength patterns, while kettlebells are particularly efficient for ballistic hinge work, rack positions and carries. Many strong setups use both because they solve different training problems.
Can loaded conditioning work in a compact home gym?

Can resistance bands be used in harder conditioning sessions?
Absolutely. Bands can add pulling volume, resisted locomotion, assistance, variable resistance and lower-impact movement options. They also transition quickly, making them useful when floor space is limited.
